A minimalist mind

A minimalist mind has more space,
And fewer thoughts,
It silences unhealthy and unhelpful thoughts,
By creating space in the mind,
And so it is a de-cluttered mind.

Because it is a de-cluttered mind,
It has less mental noise,
It is a clearer, focused and more intuitive mind,
It is a minimalist mind.

Let there be space in your mind.

Meditating in the 21st Century – there are no rules

It’s dated to think that we can only meditate in a quiet room, with our eyes closed, sitting lotus position for at least 10 minutes. Let’s revive some of these pearls of wisdom of the last 2500 years and bring them into sync with the speed and efficiency of the digital age.

You can choose at any given moment in time, to have even a few seconds of no thinking. That would be you meditating. It is not the quantity of time spent meditating, but the quality of space you have in your mind. Even a few seconds of that space is worth more than ten positive thoughts or 10 minutes of forcing your mind to let go of thoughts as you sit lotus position.

Let there be space in your mind, anytime you choose and for as long as you choose. Meditate for seconds or minutes, here and there, as you go through your day. This is meditating in the 21st century. There are no rules there is only space in your mind anytime you choose.

The space in your mind is intuition

Since the 1930’s positive thinking has spear headed the personal development movement, encouraging us to think positively about our situation and ourselves. We learnt to change our lives dramatically using positive thinking, but as we focused on positive thoughts, we overlooked that which is even more powerful and that is having no thought. We appreciated ‘no thought’ only as meditation, but it is only until recently that mindfulness has introduced it to us as a tool for personal development.

We have come to know the importance of the space in which our thoughts happen. The space that gives breath to our thoughts and how powerful and peaceful this space is. This space is who you are. You can know it as intuition. It is your very own personal guide in life. It is always there for you, forever present. Listen to it by being mentally still. It will not take you down the wrong path because it does not know how to, it only knows the most optimum life for you. Let there be space in your mind and you will come to know who you are.

It’s only ever your thoughts that can stop you from having what you want

The only thing that holds you back from having what you want in life is your thinking. It is never anything or anyone else. Challenges test you, but it’s your thinking that stops you.

Change the way you think about something and you will change the way you feel about it and as a result you will change what you do about it.
